The Cold War International History Project (CWIHP) is pleased to announce the publication of CWIHP e-Dossier No. 6, "New Evidence on Romania and the Warsaw Pact, 1955-1989," by Dennis Deletant, Professor of Romanian Studies at University College, London (UK) and CWIHP Senior Scholar.
The dossier provides a sampler of translated documents obtained recently by CWIHP and its partners from the Romanian military, foreign ministry and national archives. The documents were also published as a CD Rom by the Institute of Political Studies of the Ministry of Defense in preparation for the international conference "Romania and the Warsaw Pact," co-sponsored in October 2002 by the Institute, CWIHP and the Parallel History Project (Zurich).

CWIHP collects, translates, and publishes declassified documents from former Communist world and other archives. It supports the full and prompt release of historical materials by governments on all sides of the Cold War, and seeks to accelerate the process of integrating new sources, materials and perspectives from the former "Communist bloc" and other countries into Cold War historiography. A tax-exempt public charity, the Cold War International History Project/Woodrow Wilson Center receives funding from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Korea Foundation and other donors. For further information, please visit the CWIHP website: cwihp.si.edu.
