The United Auto Workers Local 868 (Atlanta, GA) was a part of the International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace, and Agricultural Implementation Workers of America (UAW). These records, which mainly cover 1970 to 1984, consist of correspondence, finances, grievances, and negotiations, as well as artifacts such as bumper stickers, awards, and plaques. - United Garment Workers of America, 1893-1994(L1992-17; 78 linear feet)
This large collection traces the United Garment Workers from the early years of the union to 1994, the year that the UGWA became a part of the United Food and Commercial Workers. Contained in the collection are time and motion research files for the garment industry, union labor contracts, office files relating to the functioning of the UGWA's central headquarters, minutes of the General Executive Board's meetings, and local union files. - United Paperworkers International Union Local 446, 1941-1997 (L2002-06; 13 linear feet)
This collection covers the period when the UPIU's separate black and white unions integrated. The collection contains administrative, personnel and financial records, as well as some very interesting materials relating to labor disputes. One racial discrimination case (Meyers v. Gilman Paper Corp.) is particularly well documented.
