Radical Readings and Salford Stories 2

Fundraiser, 27 November 2016, Salford, United Kingdom

The Working Class Movement Library is thrilled to announce that Christopher Eccleston, Sheila Hancock, Julie Hesmondhalgh, Mike Joyce and Maxine Peake, who are all strong supporters of the Library, will participate in an afternoon of prose, poetry and drama telling stories of radicalism and revolution.

Following on from 2014's fantastically successful fundraiser for the Library, Radical Readings and Salford Stories 2 will take place at Maxwell Hall, University of Salford, Salford M5 4WU at 2pm on Sunday 27 November. The audience can expect old favourites, Ewan MacColl, Robert Roberts, Shelagh Delaney, Harold Brighouse and many more, as well as readings on such diverse subjects as Peterloo, the Spanish Civil War, Engels's view of the Salford slums, and memories of Broad Street and Rat Week...

Tickets for this fundraising event are £12 (including booking fee and administration costs), and will go on sale via Eventbrite at 4pm on Tuesday 1 November. For enquiries please contact trustees@wcml.org.uk. The event is being staged in conjunction with the University of Salford - the Library is very grateful for their support.
