Labour & Nationalism conference, University of Huddersfield, May 2018
The SSLH is pleased to announce a preliminary call for papers in anticipation of a conference to take place on Saturday 5 May 2018.
Labour and Nationalism will take place at the University of Huddersfield and seek to bring together Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English labour historians, involving Llafur: The Welsh People’s History Society, the Irish Labour History Society, the Scottish Labour History Society, and the Society for the Study of Labour History.
The intention is that the conference will encourage early career researchers to contribute alongside longer established staff in providing new and cutting edge research and the hope is that the papers at the conference could be turned into an edited collection of essays. At the present time there are no fixed plans but if there are sufficient papers there may be one or two plenary sessions and two or more strands. A more full outline of the conference will be available by December 2017 / January 2018.
