A graduate of the Royal College of Music and University of London, she completed her MSc librarianship dissertation on the MML's music and song collection in 2019.
The MML music and song collection reflects the lived experiences of the working classes and oppressed groups over three hundred years.
The collection suggests to us that from the early socialist parties onwards, activists increasingly and proactively turned to songs as a campaign tool, and it is why we can expect songs to arise when large groups of people mobilise, especially by political consensus.
