The North West Labour History Journal (England) would like to appeal for contributions to two forthcoming issues. We hope to do special issues on the 1960s (to appear in 2001) and the 1970s (to appear in 2002). We would like to have contributions from researchers and also from those active in the radical and labour movements of those years. Surveys of these decades have largely focused on national movements (ie London) and we in the north west think it is high time that we redressed the balance. As a starter here are some suggestions on the topics that might be covered: militant trade unionism both official and unofficial action, anti-Vietnam War protests, CND, the miners strikes of 1972 and 1974, women in trade unions eg Ford machinists strike in 1968, rise of the Women's Liberation Movement, the Connolly Association, factory occupations in the 1970s, squatting movements, the fight against the National Front, Rock Against Racism, the underground scene and alternative society, Asian textile workers and trade unions, Claimants Unions, the YCL in the 60s, local Labour parties, growth of Trotskyist groups, student radicalism and so on.
