Labour and Fascism

Conference in Leeds

The Labour Movement and Fascism

A conference organised by the Society for the Study of Labour History and the School of Continuing Education, University of Leeds
Saturday 8 November 2003, 10.00am - 5.00pm
Venue: Continuing Education Building, University of Leeds

At a time when far-right parties are continuing to advance across Europe, this conference returns attention towards the anti-fascist and labour movement traditions of past decades. Where have different anti-fascist traditions come from? How have Labour-controlled institutions responded to the rise of fascism? What has been the role of women or racial minorities who have identified with the Labour Party? Has their activity led to the adoption of distinct anti-fascist strategies?
