The IWW 100 Years
Call for Papers, Workshops, and Presentations
A Conference for Labour Activists, Organizers, Students, Educators and Scholars

The Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) was founded in Chicago in June 1905. Now 100 years later, the 2005 PNLHA conference will consider the Wobblies enduring contribution to the labour and social justice movements and their current influence.
We invite proposals for academic research, panels, individual presentations, interactive workshops, drama, music, art and memorabilia displays and other forms of presentation about the IWW and related themes.
We prefer interactive sessions and discourage the reading of papers. We also encourage proposals that link history with current issues, and especially welcome submissions that address the following:
- The IWW's inclusion policies in an exclusionary environment
- The use of images to promote the IWW cause
- Adapting hymns, song and other popular culture
- Organizing techniques, advancements and losses
- Relationship with the mainstream labour movement
- Organizing Relief Camp Workers in the Depression era
- Women's involvement
- Direct action and political action
- Presentations on other labour history topics that further understanding of workers heritage and social change
