Symposium in Stockholm
In November it will be 85 years ago that Joe Hill, whose name was Joel Hägglund when he left Sweden for the USA in 1902, was executed in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was one of the best-known members of the Industrial Workers of the World -- particularly so because he wrote some of their most famous songs.
On 11 November, Sweden's Archival Day, the Arbetarrörelsens Arkiv och Bibliotek is organizing a symposium and small exhibition in commemoration. It will be held at AAB's library, Upplandsgatan 4, Stockholm. For more information: arab@arbarkiv.a.se.
