Anthropology of professions in Russia.
New and traditional occupations in changing Russia: social anthropologicalapproach

Thematic priorities of the conference:
- Politics of professional identity, professionalization of work, institutionalization of new professions, power of professionals
- Everyday life of working place, spatial, symbolic and material organization of work, micro-practices of working activities
- Anthropology of professional communities, rites and traditions, folklore, inside life of the communities of the professionals - Labor relations in the working place, power and communication in everyday life practices of occupational groups
- Traditions and innovations in the working activity in new and traditional occupational groups
- The role of culture: issues of organizational, working and professional culture
- Gender dimension: "male" and "female" occupations, gender roles in the working place, formal and informal channels of knowledge transmission, tacit knowledge of the professionals
- Methodology of anthropological studies of work, professions, organizations and employment, application of ethnographical methods in studying of contemporary Russia's society
The papers based on ethnographical research are especiallywelcome.
Time table: Abstract submission deadline is the 1st of August by email.
The Organizational Committee's decision concerning the selection of papers for the conference program is to be made by the 20th of August
Abstracts up to 1500 words should be submitted in MS Word format andinclude title of paper, information about the author (First name, Surname, contact info, place of work), short description of the paper's content, selected references.
Papers presented at the conference will be published in a collection of articles.
