The Volunteer Journal Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives

Dear friends and colleagues, the September 2004 issue of The Volunteer quarterly of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives is now available on line at: www.alba-valb.org/albavol.htm If you wish to receive current paper issues of the quarterly and contribute to ALBA's educational activities you can do so by going to www.alba-valb.org and clicking on "contribute."

The Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archive (ALBA) is a non-profit educational organization founded by Americans who volunteered to defend democracy during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). They were joined by a group of scholars, educators and artists devoted to preserving the legacy of the Brigade for future generations. ALBA has a dual identity: it is both a collection of primary source materials housed at New York University, and a living archive committed to perpetuating the vision of those brave men and women who offered their lives in the first battle against fascism in Europe. ALBA sponsors educational programs, traveling art exhibits, scholarly publications and research opportunities.
