Call for Submissions: Herbert Steiner Prize 2011
Awarded for scholarly contributions within the research fields Resistance/Persecution/Exile in the time of Fascism and Nazi-rule and Labour History

In co-operation with the Documentation Centre of Austrian Resistance, ITH awards the Herbert Steiner Prize for scholarly contributions within the research fields "Resistance/Persecution/Exile in the time of Fascism and Nazi-rule" and "Labour History".In recent years submissions in the field of Labour History have significantly decreased. Therefore ITH would like to specially draw the attention of Labour historians to this possibility for bringing excellent studies in this field to the public.
The Herbert Steiner Prize – named after the founder of the ITH and co-founder and first director of the Documentation Centre of Austrian Resistance (DÖW) – will be awarded for the eighth time in 2011.
Guidelines for Submission
The prize is awarded for outstanding scholarly contributions not yet published or printed in German or English within the following research fields
* Resistance/Persecution/Exile in the time of Fascism and Nazi-rule as well as the post-1945 treatment of these issues; and
* Labour History
The main purpose of the prize is to enable researchers to revise their scholarly manuscripts and make them ready for publication. Contributions will be assessed by an international jury. The Herbert Steiner Prize and Herbert Steiner Sponsorship Prizes will be awared. The prize money amounts to a total of 10.000 Euro.

– A reviewable scholarly manuscript (including diploma or doctoral thesis). In addition two printed copies should be sent by post to Christine Schindler, DÖW, Wipplingerstraße 6-8, A-1010 Vienna, Austria.
– C.V. and list of publications
– Abstract of the contribution
