The Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) is a global network whose objectives are to end sweatshops and to support garment workers in the third world. The CCC’s archive is now with the IISH.
CCC was established in the Netherlands in 1990 and is now active in eleven countries, including Spain, Germany, France, and the UK.
The CCC archive contains many files about disastrous cases in Bangladesh, where working in the textile industry can be lethal.
These include dirty labels from a number of western clothing companies, found in the debris of a textile factory that collapsed in April 2005.
The labels were secured to serve as proof of the western companies' involvement, and CCC tried to secure financial support for those disabled in the disaster and for the relatives of those who had perished.
