Exhibition on the history of the Munich-based American radio station.
Radio Free Europe/ Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) broadcast for over four decades targeting the Eastern Bloc states. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of launching the first programs, Galeria Centralis will open an exhibition on July 14, 2011 on the history of the radio from its American beginnings to Munich based broadcasting and to its moving to Prague in 1994.

Im 19. Jahrhundert verließen bis zu 40% aller männlichen Erwerbstätigen in jedem Frühjahr das Fürstentum Lippe. Bis zum Herbst arbeiteten sie im Norden Deutschlands, in den Niederlanden, in Skandinavien und Osteuropa auf Ziegeleien. Die saisonale Wanderarbeit der lippischen Ziegler geht bis in das 17. Jahrhundert zurück. Die Verwaltung des Fürstentums Lippe registrierte sie in allen Einzelheiten. Für die Jahre von 1778 bis 1869 gibt es im Landesarchiv Nordrhein-Westfalen (LAV NRW), Abteilung Ostwestfalen-Lippe, in Detmold über 100.000 Daten zu mehr als 30.000 Zieglern.
The Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies is pleased to announce the opening of the Labor Archives of Washington State in the Special Collections Division of the University of Washington Libraries. The new Archives brings together more than 200 collections of labor related materials, making it one of the largest labor repositories in the country and the key to research on the labor history of the Pacific Northwest. The collections and subjects are listed and linked on the Labor Archives of Washington State website.
