Open (non-thematic) issue of Transfer, 4-2022
The Editors and Editorial Committee of Transfer invite submissions for the 2022 nonthematic ('Open') issue of Transfer of articles whose subject matter falls within the aims and scope of Transfer (industrial relations, social policy, industrial organisation and labour market developments). This year, we are particularly interested in submissions on the impact of Sars-CoV-2, on collective bargaining (at all levels), on workplace practices, and on gender, age and ethnic inequalities. However, we continue to welcome submissions on any topic within Transfer’s aims and scope. Submissions should preferably take a comparative approach or situate their singlecase analysis in its broader context. Given the European perspective of Transfer, the journal also welcomes submissions which deal with the EU level.
Transfer is the quarterly peer-reviewed journal of the Research Department of the European Trade Union Institute. In 2020 Transfer received its first Impact Factor from SSCI (2.367) and was ranked 9th out of 30 journals in the Industrial Relations & Labor JCR category.
Transfer’s aim is to stimulate dialogue between the academic and research community and the European trade union movement, in particular with regard to developments at the European level or in several countries. In line with its aims, Transfer welcomes contributions not only from academics and researchers but also from practitioners. Submission and referee procedure
Authors are strongly advised to consult recent issues of Transfer before submitting articles.
Articles proposed for publication in an open issue should be sent to the managing editor Marina Luttrell at: mluttrell@etui.org. The Editors and Editorial Committee will inform the author within 8 weeks whether or not the article will be submitted for refereeing. Papers should preferably be written in English and should not have been published already, nor be currently under consideration elsewhere. Submissions in French and German will also be considered (and, if accepted for publication, will be translated into English). If the submission has been translated from another language, it should be accompanied by the original. Research should be presented in a non-technical manner that is accessible to a wide audience.
As all articles are refereed anonymously, please attach a separate page with your name, affiliation, email and postal address. Articles should be between 5000 and 8000 words including tables, notes and references and must be accompanied with an abstract of no more than 150 words and up to 8 keywords along with a short author biography.
The deadline for submissions to the 2022 Open issue is 31 January 2022. Submissions accepted for publication in the Open issue can be published ahead of print in 2021 or 2022 on OnlineFirst.
