The leading French social history journal Le Mouvement Social has embraced IISH's Global Labour History approach.
Its latest issue (no 241, 'Travail et Mondialisation' http://www.lemouvementsocial.net/) is totally devoted to Global Labour History. IISH's research director Marcel van der Linden wrote the introduction.

Call for Papers: The Paterson Silk Strike Centennial Conference, 1913-2013

The William Paterson University of New Jersey (WPUNJ) is seeking papers for its upcoming conference commemorating the centennial of the 1913 Paterson Silk Strike. The conference, to be held on the WPUNJ campus on Monday, May 20, 2013, will take a multidisciplinary approach to the history and multiple legacies of the silk strike.
Herbert G. Gutman Prize for Outstanding Dissertation The Labor and Working Class History Association (LAWCHA) reminds all that the deadline for application for its sixth annual Dissertation Prize is coming up on January 31st, 2013. This prize has been established with the cooperation with the University of Illinois Press.
I would like to put together a session for the 2013 meeting of the Social Science History Association in Chicago, 21-24 November. I do not have a firm session topic, but in line with the conference's theme of "Organizing Powers" I have in mind a panel would look at the terrain between governing arrangements and structures of social power and the means by which insurgents may challenge such arrangements and power.
The next DC Working Class History Seminar will be held from 2-5 pm on Saturday, Feb. 2 in the Gelman Library's Teamsters Labor History Research Center on the George Washington University Campus (2130 H St. Northwest, suite 702). It will feature the following pre-circulated papers:
Yevette Richards, "Marred by Dissimulation: The AFL-CIO, the Women’s Committee, and Transnational Labor Relations”
and
Gregory Woods, "White-Collar Workers and Anti-Smoking Politics after World War II."
The Labor and Working-Class History Association will hold its annual meeting in 2014 at the OAH conference in Atlanta (April 10-13, 2014).
