On the liquidation of International Memorial

International Memorial Board Statement

On 28 December 2021 Russia's Supreme Court ruled to close International Memorial.

The lawsuit, filed by the Prosecutor General's Office, referred to a missing 'foreign agent' designation on some of the materials produced by International Memorial. This is only a formal pretext, though, and the court hearings showed that these allegations were groundless.

CfP: Recasting subjects and subjectivities in the writing of history: strategies, spaces and conflicts in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries

The Workshop “Recasting subjects and subjectivities in the writing of history: strategies, spaces and conflicts in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries” is organized by the PhD in Global History and Governance of the Scuola Superiore Meridionale, a programme based on a multi-disciplinary approach centred on history and law and focused on the comparisons, connections and processes of globalization that have characterized different areas of the planet since the 15th century.

CfP: Making and Breaking Global Order in the Twentieth Century

This conference is the first major event of the ERC funded project: "Challenging the Liberal World Order from Within, the Invisible History of the United Nations and the Global South". We will focus on the institutions, nations, and often forgotten actors who were full participants alongside Great Powers in shaping the norms, systems and practices that make up global order.

CfP: 13th Annual London Graduate Conference: Classes and Masses in the History of Political Thought

The 13th Annual London Graduate Conference will explore the theme of ‘Classes and Masses in the History of Political Thought‘.

The conference will take place in person at UCL (Gustave Tuck LT, Wilkins Building, Gower Street, London, WC1E 6BT) from 30 June to 1 July 2022. The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Adom Getachew (University of Chicago), and Prof. Gareth Stedman Jones (QMUL) will deliver the opening remarks.
