Danielle van den Heuvel was awarded the Thirsk-Feinstein Dissertation Prize at the annual conference of the British Economic History Society (28 - 30 March 2008).
She received the prize, 1000 pound, for her dissertation Women and entrepreneurship. Female traders in the Northern Netherlands c. 1580-1815, which she wrote at the IISH as part of the project Women's Work in the Northern Netherlands in the Early Modern Period.
Jelle van Lottum, who was also short-listed for the prize, also wrote his dissertation at the IISH. Read more >>
