Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,

anbei ([url]http://www.ith.or.at/rundb/rb_44-2.pdf[/url]) der aktuelle ITH-Rundbrief Nr. 44/2. Er präsentiert zunächst das Programm der diesjährigen Linzer Konferenz. Sie ist dem rebellischen Jahrzehnt von Mitte der 1960er bis Mitte der 1970er Jahre gewidmet. Von der Flut an heurigen "1968er"-Konferenzen unterscheidet sich die Tagung in ihrem Focus auf außereuropäische Protest- und Emanzipationsbewegungen sowie auf transnationale und transkontinentale Vergleiche. Denn "1968" war die Welt von Paris bis Peking, von den USA bis Vietnam im Aufruhr. Inwiefern die einzelnen Protestbewegungen vernetzt waren, sich mittels Transfers beeinflussten oder bloß zeitgleich waren, ist eine zentrale Fragestellung der Konferenz.
Weitere Konferenzprojekte sind die Beteiligung der ITH an der International Labour History conference "Labour Crossings: World, Work and History", 5.-8. September, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, und der internationalen Konferenz: Labouring Feminism and Feminist Working-Class History in Europe and beyond, Stockholm, 28.-31.August.
Wie immer präsentieren wir neue Mitglieder und - leider - einen Nachruf auf verstorbene Mitglieder. Dem Rundbrief liegt auch das Anmeldeformular für die Teilnahme an der diesjährigen Linzer Konferenz bei. Wir hoffen, Sie machen reichlich Gebrauch davon.

Dear colleagues,

please find enclosed (i.e. at [url]http://www.ith.or.at/rundb/rb_44-2.pdf[/url]) our newsletter vol. 44/2. This issue presents first of all the program of this year's Linz conference on the "rebellious decade" from the mid-1960ies to the mid 1970ies. From the plethora of "1968"-conferences in this year, our conference is distinguished by its focus on non-European experiences and an emphasis upon transnational and transcontinental comparative analyses. "1968" the world was in revolt from Paris to Beijing, from the USA to Vietnam. The question to what extent these protest movements were linked together, influencing themselves by transfers or just contemporaneous, coincident, but united by a related spirit, is central for the conference.
More conference projects: the participation of ITH at the International Labour History conference "Labour Crossings: World, Work and History", Sept. 5-8, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, and the International conference: Labouring Feminism and Feminist Working-Class History in Europe and beyond, Stockholm, Aug. 28-31.As always, we present new members and mourn the deceased.
