Notice of AGM - Friends of Noel Butlin Archives, XMAS Party and Volunteer Program - 4 December 2008
Dear Friends,
The Annual General Meeting of the Friends of the Noel Butlin Archives Centre will be held at the following time and venue:
Date: 5pm Thursday 4 December 2008
Venue: Reading Room of the Noel Butlin Archives Centre (Menzies Library, ANU)
The AGM will include an election of Committee members for the following year. We strongly encourage any interested parties to nominate at the meeting. In particular, we will need a new Chairperson (I will be overseas for much of the coming year) and Secretary.
Immediately following the AGM, the Co-ordinator of the Archives' Volunteer Program, Amalijah Thomson, will speak in regard to this new and innovative program, highlighting the projects already underway, those in the pipeline, and the general nature of the Volunteer Program. Friends of the NBAC are particularly encouraged to apply for the available volunteer positions. Further details of the Volunteer Program are appended to this email below.
Following Amalijah's talk, XMAS drinks and nibbles will be provided - the more the merrier.

Information Regarding the ANU Archives Volunteers Program
The Archives' volunteer program is now officially underway. The new Volunteer Co-ordinator, Amalijah Thompson, has prepared guidelines and an information booklet for potential volunteers and has been assessing projects suggested by Archives staff. Four volunteers have already started work on projects to make the collections of the Archives more accessible to researchers. We would like to give our Friends in Canberra the opportunity to volunteer for projects in the new year, so if you're interested please contact Amalijah on 6125 0143 Monday to Wednesday or at [mailto]amalijah.thompson@anu.edu.au[/mailto] and she will send you some information about the program.
