A Lukács Archívum Nemzetközi Alapítvány (LANA) programjai
Egy évszázad filozófusa. Szabados Bettina és Szücs László Gergely (LANA) szervezésében 2021. június 7-én 17-től 19 óráig Lukács: Philosoph eines Jahrhunderts címen Wolfgang Müller-Funk (Bécs) tart előadást a Lukács-életműben érvényesülő kontinuitásról/diszkontinuitásról. Az előadást két opponens hozzászólása, majd vita követi. Az opponensek Ivana Perica (Bécs) és Francisco García Chicote (Buenos Aires). A rendezvényen előzetes regisztráció után Zoom-platformon lehet részt venni, és utólag is megtekinthető a LANA YouTube-csatornáján. – Az előadás szövege a LANA honlapján magyarul is hozzáférhető lesz.
Lukács György. Késleltetett életrajz címmel a LANA a Kalligram Kiadóval közösen megjelenteti Fekete Éva évtizedekre kéziratban maradt monográfiáját. „Nem kellett hozzá sem feljelentés, semmilyen konkrét esemény, hogy a kiadó akkori igazgatója ne akarja kiadni Lukács György életrajzát. Hiszen Fekete Éva Lukács-életrajza egy olyan emberről szólt, aki […] kommunistának vallotta magát, de minden csalódása és tévedése közepette is hitt abban, hogy a kommunizmus csak a társadalom mély, demokratikus átalakulása révén, azzal együtt valósulhat meg.” (Kőszeg Ferenc)
Lukács György publicisztikája 1920–1929. A LANA honlapján megjelent Lukács György ’20-as években a bécsi emigrációban született kisebb írásainak (politikai publicisztikájának, recenzióinak, recenzió formájában megjelent elméleti írásainak) – a dolgok jelen állása szerint teljes – gyűjteménye magyarul, Mesterházi Miklós szerkesztésében. Végre törlesztett régi adósság: ezek az írások a Lukács Archívum füstbe ment tervei szerint a Magvető Kiadó Lukács-összkiadásában jelentek volna meg 1990-ben – ha a kiadó abban a formában, ahogy akkoriban létezett, nagy állami könyvkiadóként nem szűnt volna meg, és ezzel nem esett volna kútba a Lukács-összkiadás.
Koszorúzás. A LANA június 3-án 17 órakor megkoszorúzza Lukács György emléktábláját a filozófus egykori lakásának és három évvel ezelőtti bezárásáig a Lukács Archívumnak otthont adó ház falán (Budapest, V. Belgrád rkp. 2.).
Más programok, kiadványok a Lukács-évfordulóra
Június 4-én Berlinben Georg Lukács im 21. Jahrhundert címmel Frank Engster (Helle Panke), Rüdiger Dannemann (Internationale-Georg-Lukács-Gesellschaft) és Patrick Eiden-Offe (Leibniz Zentrum für Literaturforschung, ZFL) nemzetközi konferenciát rendez az évforduló alkalmából. A záróelőadásokat két nemzetközi tekintélyű tudós, Axel Honneth (Columbia, NY/ IfS Frankfurt) és Michael Löwy (CNRS / EHESS, Párizs) tartja. A konferencián a LANA képviseletében Mesterházi Miklós Lukács in Ungarn – gestern und heute című előadásával vesz részt.
A Theater der Zeit (Berlin) című havilap vitasorozatot tervez a Literaturforum im Brecht-Haus keretében június 1-től 3-ig, és ez alkalomból megjelentet egy szöveggyűjteményt is Georg Lukács: Texte zum Theater címmel. „Lukácsot a modern regény teoretikusaként szokták elkönyvelni. Ettől csak még tanulságosabb művei újrafelfedezésének keretében épp sajátosan a színháznak szentelt írásait szemügyre venni. Mert a színház Lukácsnál nehezen túlbecsülhető szerepet játszik. Nemcsak hogy ifjú éveiben színházi kritikákat írt, de a realizmus elméletét illető elképzelései is valamilyen formában fölveszik a színháztudomány és médiaelmélet fonalát. A Re-reading Lukács – Georg Lukács und das Theater projekt átfogó, hosszas diszkusszióra szeretne ösztönözni. Lukácsnak – szellemi impulzusokkal szolgáló erőként, kritikai vitában – vissza kell térnie a színre.”
Június 2-án a junge Welt „Irrationalismus und Klassenkampf” címmel tematikus mellékletet szentel az évfordulónak. A szám szerzői Ester Vaisman és Ronaldo Vielmi Fortes, Lukács brazíliai kiadói, Dr. Jian Liu (Nanking), Rüdiger Dannemann, az Internationale-Georg-Lukács-Gesellschaft elnöke, Werner Jung, a Lukács-Werkausgabe (Aisthesis Verlag) szerkesztője és Arnold Schölzel (Berlin).
Brazíliában két konferencia is emlékezik az évfordulóra: Lukács: Permanências E Releituras címmel május 27–28-án; június 4-től 6-ig pedig Congresso Internacional – Lukács 50 anos depois. Pensamento vivo címmel az Anuário Lukács szervezésében.
Az évforduló alkalmából a Suhrkamp májusban egy terjedelmes, az egész életművet átfogó Lukács-szöveggyűjteményt adott ki Rüdiger Dannemann és Axel Honneth szerkesztésében és előszavával, Ästhetik, Marxismus, Ontologie cím alatt. A tartalomjegyzék és a bevezető tanulmány itt olvasható.
A Mérce június folyamán egy tematikus blokkot szentel az évfordulónak.
A Red May (Seattle) YouTube-csatornáján látható az a videókonferencia, amelyet 2021. május 2-án tartottak a neves filozófus, Lukács-kutató, Andrew Feenberg (Canada Research Chair in Philosophy of Technology, School of Communication, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver) részvételével.
Április 22-én Self-transformative Life? címen rendezett konferenciát a Vorschungsverbund der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt. A konferencia magyar résztvevője Lukács’ Early Conception of Reification in the Light of Recent Interpretations című előadásával Olay Csaba (ELTE) volt.
Az Actuel Marx (Presses universitaires de France) januárban egy Lukács-különszámot jelentetett meg, amelynek magyar közreműködője Takács Ádám (ELTE) Democracy, fascism, and the question of socialist society in the political writings of Lukács (1945–1950) című tanulmányával.
Az Instituto Lukács (São Paulo), Lukács műveinek brazíliai kiadója Ester Vaisman és Ronaldo Vielmi Fortes szerkesztésében, átdolgozott portugál fordításban 2020 októberében újra megjelentette Az ész trónfosztását (A destruição da razão).
Programmes of the Lukács Archive International Foundation (LAIF)
The Philosopher of a Century. On 7th June 2021 between 5pm-7pm Wolfgang Müller-Funk (Vienna) will be speaking about continuity/discontinuity in Lukács’ works, under the title Lukács: Philosoph eines Jahrhunderts. The talk will be followed by comments from the two opponents, Ivana Perica (Vienna) és Francisco García Chicote (Buenos Aires), and a discussion. The event, organised by Bettina Szabados and László Gergely Szücs (LANA), will be held online and can be attended on Zoom after registration. The recorded event will be available on LANA’s YouTube channel and the text of the presentation will be available in Hungarian translation on the LANA website.
LANA and Kalligram publishing house will be jointly publishing Éva Fekete’s monograph, which has been in manuscript form for decades, under the title Lukács György. Késleltetett életrajz (György Lukács. Delayed Biography). ’There was no need for a denouncement or a particular event for the director of the publishing house not to want to publish György Lukács’s biography. Éva Fekete’s Lukács biography is about someone who called himself a communist, but despite all his disappointments and mistakes, still believed that communism can only be achieved through and only with a profound, democratic transformation of society.’ (Ferenc Kőszeg)
György Lukács’s Essays 1920-1929. A Hungarian language complete collection of György Lukács’ smaller works (political essays, reviews, theoretical writings in the form of reviews) written in the 1920s, during his years of emigration in Vienna, edited by Miklós Mesterházi, has been published on LANA’s website. This has been long overdue: the Lukács Archive planned to include these writings in Magvető Publishing’s Complete Works of Lukács in 1990, but the publishing house was transformed and ceased to exist as a large, state-owned publisher, so the publication of the complete works of Lukács fell through.
Wreath laying ceremony. On 3rd June at 5pm, LANA will be laying a wreath at the plaque in tribute to György Lukács on the wall of the house where the philosopher lived and where the Lukács Archive was situated until its closure three years ago (Budapest, V. Belgrád rkp. 2.).
Other events and publications on the Lukács anniversary
On 4th June an international conference entitled Georg Lukács im 21. Jahrhundert will be held in Berlin. The organisers of the conference are Frank Engster (Helle Panke), Rüdiger Dannemann (Internationale-Georg-Lukács-Gesellschaft) and Patrick Eiden-Offe (Leibniz Zentrum für Literaturforschung, ZFL). The closing talks will be given by two internationally reknowned scholars, Axel Honneth (Columbia, NY/ IfS Frankfurt) and Michael Löwy (CNRS / EHESS, Paris). On LAIF’s behalf, Miklós Mesterházi will give a presentation under the title Lukács in Ungarn – gestern und heute.
The monthly magazine Theater der Zeit (Berlin) is organising a series of debates as part of Literaturforum im Brecht-Haus and will also publish a reader under the title Georg Lukács: Texte zum Theater to mark the occasion. ’As a rule, Lukács is primarily considered a theorist of the modern novel. This makes it all the more revealing to look at his writings specifically on theatre as part of the rediscovery of his work. For theatre plays a role for Lukács that should not be underestimated. Not only did he work as a theatre critic in his younger years, but his ideas on the theory of realism have also been taken up in theatre studies and media theory. The project "Re-reading Lukács - Georg Lukács and the Theatre" aims to initiate a comprehensive, long-term discussion. Lukács is to return to the stage as a stimulating intellectual force in critical debate.’
On 2nd June junge Welt will publish a themed supplement entitled ’Irrationalismus und Klassenkampf’ to mark the anniversary. The authors of the issue are Ester Vaisman and Ronaldo Vielmi Fortes, Lukács’s publishers in Brazil; Dr. Jian Liu (Nanjing), Rüdiger Dannemann, president of the Internationale-Georg-Lukács-Gesellschaft, Werner Jung, editor of the Lukács-Werkausgabe (Aisthesis Verlag) and Arnold Schölzel (Berlin).
There are two conferences commemorating the anniversary in Brazil: Lukács: Permanências E Releituras will be held between 27 and 28 May, and Congresso Internacional – Lukács 50 anos depois. Pensamento vivo from June 4 to 6, organized by the Anuário Lukács.
To mark the anniversary, Suhrkamp published a comprehensive Lukács reader covering his entire oeuvre, with a foreword by the editors, Rüdiger Dannemann and Axel Honneth, under the title Ästhetik, Marxismus, Ontologie. The contents and introduction can be found here.
A videoconference held on 2nd May 2021 with the participation of the reknowned philosopher and Lukács researcher, Andrew Feenberg (Canada Research Chair in Philosophy of Technology, School of Communication, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver) can be viewed on the YouTube channel of Red May (Seattle).
Vorschungsverbund der Goethe-Universität Frankfurt held a conference entitled Self-transformative Life? on 22nd April. The Hungarian participant was Csaba Olay with his presentation, Lukács’ Early Conception of Reification in the Light of Recent Interpretations.
Actuel Marx (Presses universitaires de France) published a special issue dedicated to Lukács with a Hungarian contribution from Ádám Takács (ELTE) entitled Democracy, fascism, and the question of socialist society in the political writings of Lukács (1945–1950).
In October 2020, Lukács’s Brazilian publisher published The Destruction of Reason in revised translation, edited by Ester Vaisman and Ronaldo Vielmi Fortes, under the title Georg Lukács: A destruição da razão.

Philosoph eines Jahrhunderts – mit diesem Titel hält Prof. Wolfgang Müller-Funk über das Problem Kontinuität/Diskontinuität in Lukács’ Lebenswerk am 7. Juni 2021 um 17 Uhr einen Vortrag. Darauf folgen die Beiträge zweier Opponenten, Ivana Perica (Wien) und Francisco García Chicote (Buenos Aires), und eine Diskussion. Die Teilnahme an der Veranstaltung ist nach vorangehender Registrierung via Zoom-Plattform möglich, die Veranstaltung kann im Nachhinein auf dem Youtube-Kanal der LANA besichtigt werden. Lukács György. Késleltetett életrajz [Georg Lukács. Eine verzögerte Biographie], unter diesem Titel erscheint die von der Internationalen Stiftung Lukács Archiv und dem Kalligram Verlag herausgebrachte Lukács-Biographie der Autorin Éva Fekete. „Es war für den damaligen Direktor des Magvető-Verlags keine Anzeige, kein besonderes Ereignis nötig, um die Lukács-Biographie nicht herauszugeben. Es ging ja in dem Buch von Éva Fekete um einen Menschen, der sich lebenslang zum Kommunismus bekannte, doch trotz Enttäuschungen und Irrtümer bis zum Tode daran geglaubt hat, dass der Kommunismus nur durch die tiefe, demokratische Umwälzung der Gesellschaft zu verwirklichen sei.” (Ferenc Kőszeg).
Lukács György publicisztikája 1920–1929 [Georg Lukács’ Publizistik 1920–1930]. Auf der Homepage der Internationalen Stiftung Lukács Archiv ist die – nach dem heutigen Stand der Dinge – vollständige Sammlung der in den 20er Jahren in Wien geschriebenen kleineren Schriften (politischen Kommentare, Rezensionen oder als Rezensionen verfassten kürzeren theoretischen Arbeiten) Lukács’ auf Ungarisch, redigiert von Miklós Mesterházi, zugänglich geworden. Eine endlich abgetragene Schuld: laut der (gescheiterten) Pläne des Georg Lukács Archivs hätten diese Schriften 1990 in der von dem Magvető Verlag betreuten Gesamtausgabe erscheinen sollen – hätte der Verlag in seiner damaligen Form als großer staatlicher Verlag nicht aufgehört zu existieren, und wäre damit der Gesamtausgabe kein Ende gesetzt. Es sind auch diejenigen Texte zugänglich, die in der – ausgezeichneten – Luchterhand-Ausgabe (Frank Benseler–Jörg Kammler [Hrsg.]: Georg Lukács: Politische Aufsätze I–V, Luchterhand, Darmstadt u. Neuwied 1975–1979) nicht erschienen sind.
Bekränzung. Am 3. Juni um 17 Uhr findet durch die Internationale Stiftung Lukács Archiv die feierliche Bekränzung von Lukács’ Gedenktafel an der Wand des Hauses (Belgrad-Quai 2.) statt, in dem Lukács wohnte und bis zu seiner Schließung vor 3 Jahren das Lukács Archiv untergebracht war.

Am 4. Die Monatszeitschrift Theater der Zeit (Berlin) veranstaltet im Rahmen des Literaturforums im Brecht-Haus eine Diskussionsreihe und veröffentlicht aus diesem Anlass einen Lukács-Reader mit dem Titel Georg Lukács: Texte zum Theater. „In der Regel wird Lukács primär als Theoretiker des modernen Romans verbucht. Umso aufschlussreicher ist es, im Rahmen einer Neuentdeckung seines Schaffens seine Schriften speziell zum Theater in den Blick zu nehmen. Denn der Aspekt des Theaters spielt bei Lukács eine nicht zu unterschätzende Rolle. Nicht nur wirkte er in seinen jungen Jahren als Theaterkritiker, auch seine Einwürfe zu einer Theorie des Realismus sind verschiedentlich in Theaterwissenschaft sowie Medientheorie wieder aufgegriffen worden. Mit dem Projekt »Re-reading Lukács – Georg Lukács und das Theater« soll eine umfassende, langfristige Diskussion angestoßen werden. Lukács soll – als impulsgebende intellektuelle Kraft und in kritischer Auseinandersetzung – auf die Bühne (des Theaters) zurückkehren.”
Die junge Welt widmet dem Jahrestag unter dem Titel „Irrationalismus und Klassenkampf” eine thematische Beilage. Anlässlich des Jahrestages hat der Suhkamp Verlag unter der Redaktion und mit einem Vorwort von Rüdiger Dannemann und Axel Honneth unter dem Titel Ästhetik, Marxismus, Ontologie eine umfangreiche, das ganze Lebenswerk umfassende Textauswahl aus Lukács-Werken erscheinen lassen – das Inhaltsverzeichnis und eine Leseprobe aus dem Vorwort ist hier zu erreichen.
