The Labor and Working-Class History Association will hold its annual meeting in 2014 at the OAH conference in Atlanta (April 10-13, 2014).

The LAWCHA Program Committee (Eileen Boris, chair; Monica Perales and Dennis Deslippe) is seeking ideas for sessions or papers which can be co-sponsored by LAWCHA. Please direct all proposals to the LAWCHA Program Chair, Eileen Boris (boris [at] femst.ucsb.edu) before the February 15 deadline.

OSA Acquires the Archives of the Foundation for the Support of European Intellectuals

The Fondation pour une entraide intellectuelle européenne (Foundation for the Support of European Intellectuals, FEIE) was set up in 1966 in Geneva to help morally and financially non-conformist intellectuals in East European communist countries, as well as Spain and Portugal. The idea of its establishment came from members of the Congress for Cultural Freedom, an advocayc group formed in the 1950s to fight the influence of communism.
