The NEH-Hagley Fellowship on Business, Culture, and Society supports residencies at the Hagley Library in Wilmington, Delaware for junior and senior scholars whose projects make use of Hagley’s substantial research collections. Scholars must have completed all requirements for their doctoral degrees by the February 15 application deadline. In accordance with NEH requirements, these fellowships are restricted to United States citizens or to foreign nationals who have been living in the United States for at least three years.

We seek articles on cultural representations of post/socialism as a global historical formation. The term “postsocialism” was first coined in reference to 1980s innovations in Chinese-style state socialism, and the field of postsocialist studies critiques dominant narratives of transition in former Soviet Union and Eastern Bloc countries.

Starting from the new century, Italian historical studies on childhood in the 20th Century have known a growing, although not systematic, attention. Research has focused on some significant issues, such as wars, fascism, or the Shoah; or on transversal issues such as welfare or school and educational policies. A not secondary role has been played by the publishing industry thanks to the publication of memories and diaries by those experienced, during their childhood, central events of the 20th Century, first of all the World Wars and racial persecution.

Les années post-crise de 2008 ont vu émerger un phénomène nouveau en Europe, en particulier sur sa rive méditerranéenne : le populisme de gauche. Celui-ci s’inscrit néanmoins dans une histoire plus longue et une géographie plus vaste, dont le contenu et les limites font l’objet de débats.

La revue de sociologie brésilienne « Contemporânea » de l’Université de São Carlos organise un dossier sur les sociologies rurales du Maghreb1. Ce dossier a pour objectif de:

i) familiariser les chercheurs brésiliens et, plus largement, sud-américains à la sociologie rurale maghrébine et

ii) à partir de l’espace maghrébin, penser le concept de post-colonialité dans une perspective analytique peu connue, et

iii) amorcer une interaction féconde entre les sociologues ruralistes issus (ou pas) des deux espaces géographiques.
