Announcement: 2005 Kenny Prize Lecture, Thursday, May 5, 4pm
This year the Robert S. Kenny prize for outstanding work in the field of Marxist and labour/left studies has been awarded to Ann Porter for her book Gendered States: Women, Unemployment Insurance, and the Political Economy of the Welfare State in Canada, 1945, published by University of Toronto Press.

The next meeting of the Tamiment Seminar will be on April 13 (6:30 -8:30 PM). David Montgomery (Yale University) will be presenting a paper "Workers Movements and Imperialism: From Berlin (1884) to Baku (1920) to Bandung (1955). Herrick Chapman (NYU) will comment.
